Who We Are

We’re more than just fire trucks and sirens; we are neighbors, teammates, and part of the same community we serve. Hardin County Emergency Services District #2, known locally as Lumberton Fire & EMS, provides fire suppression, emergency medical services, and community paramedicine to over 20,000 residents across 60 square miles.

Our work is guided by a 5 member Board of Commissioners, appointed by the Hardin County Commissioners Court. The Board sets direction and policy, while our Fire Chief leads day-to-day operations, supported by both career staff and dedicated volunteers.

We are proud to operate independently as we are not part of Lumberton City Council, the Police Department, or other local utilities, so our focus stays right where it belongs: on protecting you and your family.

Safety

We serve as part of the neighborhoods we protect, building trust through visibility and involvement.

Fire and EMS or Paid and Volunteer, we are built on collaboration; our strength comes from working together.

We do the right thing, always, even when no one is watching.

We hold ourselves to the highest standards in training, service and care.

The safety of our crews and our community comes before everything else.
