Public Relations Event Requests

We love connecting with our community. Use this page to request a crew, apparatus, safety presentation, station tour, or special event support. Operational readiness always comes first, but we do our best to accommodate eligible requests.

Before You Submit

Please submit requests at least 7 days in advance when possible. Events must be within the Hardin County ESD #2 service area, be appropriate for the public, and meet safety and access considerations.

  • Have a firm date, time window, and location.
  • Estimate expected attendance and audience (youth, families, etc.).
  • Identify an on-site contact with a phone number.
  • Confirm safe parking/space for apparatus (if requesting a unit on display).

How It Works

Submit your request with complete details.
Review for eligibility, availability, and safety.
Confirm via email with any follow-up requirements.
Attend — crews remain in service and may depart for emergencies.

What We Can Provide

Apparatus Static Display

Engine or medic unit on site. Space and egress must be maintained.

Crew Meet-and-Greet

Q&A with firefighters/medics; gear and equipment overview.

Fire & Life Safety Talk

Age-appropriate topics (smoke alarms, escape plans, 9-1-1, etc.).

CPR/AED Awareness

Non-certification demo; contact us for certification options.

Station Tour

By appointment; group size limits may apply.

Basic Requirements & Limits

These help us keep crews available for emergencies and ensure a safe setup at your event.

Timing

  • Request ≥ 7 days ahead when possible.
  • Peak times/holidays may be limited.

Eligibility

  • Within HCESD#2 service area.
  • Public, school, or community-focused events.

On-Site Needs

  • Safe access/egress & reserved space if bringing a unit.
  • Primary contact available during the event.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you guaranteed to attend once I submit?

No. Submitting a request begins the review process. Final confirmation depends on eligibility, staffing, and call volume.

Can the crew leave during my event?

Yes. Units remain in service and may be dispatched at any time. We’ll return if/when available.

Do you provide siren/light demos?

At crew discretion and only when safe and permitted by the venue and environment.

Do you charge a fee?

Most community PR events are free. Certain requests (standbys with dedicated coverage, extended commitments, or outside area) may not be available.

Can I request a specific station or unit?

You can indicate a preference in the form, but assignments are based on operational needs.
